More about Group Site Registration: The group registration option is the cost-effective way to bring together a group of people to discuss ethics-related issues and concerns, review Pre-Training Activities and take part in the broadcast together. This has been a very popular option. If you decide to do this, someone must serve as the Site Coordinator and submit a Group Registration Form and Group Site Participants List. Payment for all participants at a group site must be submitted at the same time. The Group Site Participants List must have the personal email address and telephone information on the form so that information on the TeleSeminar and verification of CEU credit can be sent directly to them.
This training explores situations and scenarios faced in day-to-day work. Rehabilitation professionals usually don’t have time to review, discuss and find out whether responses to the dilemmas were reasonable, productive and/or within the bounds of ethical practice or codes which may apply. References to the principles of the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification’s (CRCC) ‘Code of Ethics’ along with common sense insights will help to better understand how ethical dilemmas can be avoided, or at least be dealt with appropriately.
Case scenarios help participants to analyze situations, answer questions and offer individual responses. Then, both individually, and as a group, we’ll review those determinations from the group to see if others and the ethics codes of conduct might agree.
". . . very effective presentation style providing ethics topics and intertwining learning through pre-seminar work, handouts and question and answer session. All answers to the questions were referenced in the appropriate sections of the code, which is most helpful to us VRC's"

Faculty:
Pathfinder Associates'
Tony Langton and Spencer Mosley are pleased to welcome Dr.
Debra Guthmann to the team. Debra
is an excellent presenter and she has a wealth of
information to share about dual relationships and boundaries
that professionals working in the field face
“Deb has presented her common sense approach to dual relationships, confidential, boundary issues, power differentials and other key issues such as self-disclosure on several occasions to the Minnesota Rehabilitation Association with great reviews and continued requests for her to return. The TeleSeminar is a great opportunity to open this up to professionals from across the country”
Doris Illies
Minnesota Rehabilitation Association, Program Co-Chair
NRA JPD Past-President
Training Approach:
The
TeleSeminar
uses an audio-conference format as the
foundation for the training, enhanced by a
PowerPoint presentation, email communication, handout materials and
small group activities to replicate a “virtual” seminar environment
complete with auditory and visual elements. The environment is
very interactive, starting with faculty who present and exchange
information with each other and respond directly to participant
comments and inquiries during the expanded question and answer
portion of the training. Direct email access from participants
to presenters is active throughout the training and during
post-training follow-up. This extensive interactive capacity
facilitates exchange of information throughout the training.
Participants are encouraged to complete the
training in small groups of four or more. This is not only
more cost-effective, but it provides the opportunity to interact
with peers to review
Pre-Training Activities
and address local and statewide issues.
Post-Training Follow-up
will use email and an optional
discussion blog to extend the opportunity to address questions raised
during the training and learn more about practices across the
country.
Continuing Education Credit: Participants can receive 2.0 ethics CRCC contact hours for this training. To receive CRC verification, you must complete the Pre-Training Activities and participate in all 90 minutes of the training. No partial credit will be issued. Please indicate on the registration form if you wish to receive credits. Further information will be sent with your training materials. There is no additional charge for CEU credits.
