Job Analysis
Job Analysis is a fundamental tool that has applications in many aspects of rehabilitation services. One of the most obvious applications is in the placement part of the rehabilitation process when detailed information is needed of actual requirements of a position, working conditions, essential functions that must be performed by workers in this position. Access to current, specific information on jobs in the community is not only vital for the placement phase of the process but also assessment, vocational exploration, counseling, training and safety. Despite applications in almost all aspects of the rehabilitation process, job analysis unfortunately is often a forgotten and seldom used resource.
The following resources should be helpful in rediscovering this basic tool that many rehabilitation professionals last experienced first-hand in a graduate school class. Even if you do use job analysis on a regular basis you will find many of these resources useful. If you may regular use of job analysis and have materials that you are willing to share please contact us and we will post your materials here and acknowledge you and your program or work setting. you
