Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

ADA , the American’s with Disabilities Act, has been termed the “Civil Rights Act for Persons with Disabilities”.  Since passage by the Congress on July 26, 1990, the ADA has become a key source of information, resources, regulations and general guidance surrounding the the major aspects of the lives of persons with disabilities in the United States.  The ADA has been amended several times and is undergoing continuous interpretation in the court systems.

For Information and Technical Assistance on the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Department of Justice (DOJ) should be the first place to look.
